(More customer reviews)I ordered this to install an aftermarket stereo in my 2006 Hyundai Sonata that originally came with the simplest AM/FM/CD-MP3 factory radio, but apparently this is not the right part for that configuration. The connector fits, but that inline black box in the photo has some electronics that affect all the speaker wires, and it caused my aftermarket stereo to have virtually no volume. I am handy with a soldering iron and was able to remove the black box, reconnect the speaker wires and then my new Sony CDX-GT240 worked well with it. I suppose the fault is mine because the item specifies it is for premium sound system, and I don't have the premium sound system, but this is what I found when searching Amazon for Sonata 2006 wiring harness.
Investigate for yourself, but from some searching I've done the Scosche FD23B for Ford (yes, Ford) may be the harness to use if you are replacing a non-premium Hyundai 2006 or similar Sonata sound system.
I believe the black box is needed if you have a Hyundai factory amplifier, but it makes the output way too quiet if you don't have the factory amplifier.
