I purchased this unit primarily as small and portable Automotive GPS system. I also saw the merits of using it as a full function PDA capable of multimedia functions and other. In theory it seemed like a very good deal.
Upon first inspection I was excited. The PDA unit was slim and light (as advertised).
My excitement soon abated when I saw the monstrous concoction of a car mount that came with it. It was large, clumsy and ugly (it literally tripled the volume of the device) and it looked like a poorly engineered after market gizmo. For full functionality, it required three different wires connected on different sides of the unit. The satellite tracking module is an add on that connects into the top mounted SD card socket. It also adds considerable bulk and weight. Once installed on the windshield, the whole assembly was flimsy and unsteady, it was an eyesore. Its size interfered with proper driving visibility no matter where I mounted it (I drive an Impala with very generous dashboard space, I shudder to think what this would look like inside a sub compact).
Functionally, the unit appeared to work very well as a PDA device, it has a decent CPU, the screen appeared clear and the interface quite usable.
Satellite acquisition was sloooow and unpredictable and contrary to their advertisement, the unit comes only loaded with main highways and absolutely no street maps.
The adds say "ready to use out of the box". . Furthermore, the manufacturers web site shows a tutorial video for the unit that shows how the unit is ready to use right out of the box.
Not true! You have to register the unit with the manufacturer before you are authorized to download any maps, the process is cumbersome and time consuming
I purchaser Model 105 which supposedly differs from model 100 in that it comes with the whole USA preloaded. That is bull, the two models are identical except for their registration code. Model 100 entitles you to load only one region for free, Model 105 entitles you to load the whole USA. But here comes the twist, neither model has enough memory to hold more that one or two regions at the time so ?... You figure the rest!
I carefully repacked the unit and shipped back to AMAZON.
I cannot objectively say how well the unit performs on the road, I never got that far.
In lieu of the deceitful adds and the primitive engineering of the mounting accessories I believe the unit is not worth any consideration.
