After the slow initial acquiring time (not unusual in a big city, Chicago) the 20x connects instantly and has been working great. We are very pleased with the 20x performance in Chicago, the small size is handy, only needing a bit of Velcro on the dash to keep it in place, the USB connection is a easy match with a computer and needs no battery.
Because the 20x is continually connected to your laptop via a cable, you most likely will need an USB extender cable, because the 20x cable length is only 40 inches - 101 cm or 3.33 feet long, which leaves little "extra" room and/or you might want the flexibility to "run" the cable around your dash. Our 20x came packaged in a bright pink bubble pouch, which we find is a useful (almost necessary) way to store the very small sized 20x and keep it easy to find.
