Without this, I would have to have cut and spliced wiring in my 2006 Honda Odyssey (with DVD and Navigation) to install my new Parrot bluetooth device. This made it simply plug and play. The hardest part is figuring out what to do with the excess wiring from this device and the bluetooth kit. For me, I put the bluetooth "brain" (small box) and most of the excess wiring up behind the navigation screen where there's more room and just ran the connection wiring down to the radio area (where there is NO excess room). If you're wondering whether you really need a vehicle specific wiring harness and plan on a "do it yourself" installation, save yourself some frustration and go with the harness.
