I browsed this site for a week looking through video monitors before I settled on this particular one. Boy, did I choose wrong. I was looking for two specific products features, both of which this item clearly stated it had in its' item description, as well as on the product box that was included from the company itself. Those features were: Two audio AND video inputs, and built-in internal speakers. THIS PRODUCT HAS NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS. So if you were looking for a monitor that could be used without headphones, this isnt the one for you. If you're like me, you have a baby in the backseat who cant be expected to wear a pair of wireless headphones. Also, if you're like me, you wanted to be able to plug in two seperate items, with both items having audio and video. I needed this monitor to have two audio/video inputs so I can hook up the video and sound from both a dvd player, and my Sirius backseat tv. There were two video inputs, but only one set of stereo (red/white) audio inputs. What good is that going to do anyone if you need to have video and sound for two seperate devices? The answer is it wouldnt do you any good, unless you were willing to unbolt the tv from the mounting bracket everytime you wanted to switch between the tv backseat tv tuner, and the dvd player. Do yourself the biggest favor you can, and stay away from this product. One final note, the half page 'instruction manual' included with the package was written in very broken english. Obvious to me now that this thing is some cheaply made, falsely advertised foreign import piece of junk. Look at other product brands and avoid this one.

This product is great (now that it is installed). The video is clear and resolution is better than I had expected. There are issues installing the device if you are not an experienced auto A/V installer. The bluetooth function is a nice speaker phone add on feature with some minor issues.
Lets get to the chase, the reason I only give three stars, the owners manual (if you can call it that) sucks! It is a single page of paper divided in to four sections. One part covering the remote control, one part covering the function keys on the panel, one part covering bluetooth functionality, and one part with an incomplete wiring diagram. I say the wiring diagram is incomplete because there is an entire set of wires (used to power the camera) not shown.
The entire written instructions for installation are:
1. Disconnect the negative lead of the battery before making power connections
2. When creating passage holes for the power wires, use grommets to eliminate any sharp edges created during drilling.
3. When connecting the ground lead, fasten the ground lead securely to a clean metal plate on the vehicle.
I thought surely I was missing something. I went to the Pyle website only to find the manual listed as "comming soon". I sent an email to their support department and received a reply with no text, only an attachment of the same single page of useless paper. If you are not experienced with installing these devices you should seek professional installation.
During the installation you will need likely need a cable to extend the video/power feed to the screen. The cable provided was not remotely long enough for me to route in a concealed manner. Fortunately you only need a simple mouse extension cable for this. Aside from the mouse extension cable the only other item needed was a short piece (2 feet depending on your vehicle)of small gauge wire to connect the two inches of provided reverse wire to your vehicle's back up circuit.
Pairing the bluetooth is easy, probably the only thing clearly written in the "manual". The microphone is on the back of the screen picking up voices reflected off the windshield. Callers report a far away sound, but clearly audible. I found hearing the other party quite easy. The biggest drawback is a lack of ability to connect to the phone without using the phone. When I climb in the car I must pull my phone out of my pocket and go into the menu to search for the devise in order to connect. While driving, when receiving a call, there is no way to answer the phone from the screen. You must answer the phone at the phone, making this not truly hands free. Still it beats wearing a stupid earpiece when I am not on the phone.
Overall good performance from a product designed for first time DYI.

This kit includes a nightvision-capable rear view camera and clip-on rear view mirror for your vehicle. The camera installs easily above your license plate and outputs crystal clear video over an RCA jack. The monitor clips to your rear view mirror. The monitor detects when you back up and shows the camera on screen. When you put your car back in drive, the image disappears – and your mirror becomes a mirror again. Perfect for backing into tight spots or moving in reverse when visibility is limited – it\'s like having an extra eye. Comes with nightvision LEDs, which illuminate the area behind you at night. This model also has Bluetooth, so it can display incoming calls. This small and durable unit will keep you safe and secure because you\'ll always know what\'s going on around you. The mirror also has multiple video inputs so you can hook up a portable DVD player or iPod.
