It has terrific features and the refurbished nature of it makes it significantly cheaper than a new one. I cannot tell how it was refurbished. It works perfectly and looks perfect. I already owned a Garmin Nuvi 205W for one vehicle. This Nuvi 1450 is very similar, but with some delightful new capabilities. Perhaps the best one is the 5" screen, not too big for the dashboard, but significantly easier to read. But; here's the but. But I wrote "at least up front." This means that the initial price is very attractive; however, if you want annual map updates, as many of us do, you will certainly pay plenty for them. Think of a wonderful, high-quality color ink jet printer at amazing low price. It is not the printer, but the proprietary ink cartridges, that will be costly for you. But if you can do without annual map updates, you will like this Garmin Nuvi 1450. If you order one, check out the Nuvi 1450T. That one offers traffic status, which I didn't need or want. If you live in a congested area; however, you might want it.
