(More customer reviews)I'm rocking the BFHA in a 2007 Honda Civic Si, and for a phone, the iPhone 4. As an interface for making and receiving calls, it works really really well. The calls are clear and nobody has any problem hearing me. Using the radio buttons to initiate the calls is somewhat confusing, but using the phone itself, it couldn't be easier.
One of the big reasons I got this particular bluetooth unit was to also be able to play music from the phone through the stereo wirelessly. This also works pretty well. it's even possible to advance through tracks using the steering wheel controls, which is really cool. So, for example, I can be driving down the highway streaming Pandora, and skip a song I don't like. That's really neat.
My one complaint (so far) is that the gain on the a2dp seems to be too high. What I mean by this is that the music comes on really loud in comparison to other sources. Which isn't that big of a deal in and of itself, but this also seems to result in the highs being somewhat "blown out" and crackly. Even if I turn down the volume of the phone, when the volume of the headunit is turned up to get to the same volume, some songs seem to have this problem. I've used this phone with a2dp bluetooth headunits from Pioneer and Sony and do not have this problem.
All that said, I haven't spent very much time troubleshooting the problem and I hope to find a remedy with a little work. I had a minor snafu with the install (my mic ended up being defective), but to my pleasant surprise Scosche representatives are easy to reach, even on Saturdays. I'm hoping they might have some thoughts on this gain/volume issue.

Mobile Grip-IT IUHW5F Windshield Mount Kit (Black) Review

I wanted to be able to mount my Palm Pre for easy access and viewing while driving and using a Bluetooth headset. The problem with the others was that they would block the USB connector on the side of the phone and I couldn't charge it while driving. The design of the Mobile Grip-IT IUHWS Windshield Mount Kit is perfect. It does the job and I can keep it plugged in and it is fully adjustable for other gadgets like my Garmin GPS. It's a great design and it is well made.

(More customer reviews)I was very hesitant about purchasing this mount for two reasons:
1. I have the Navigon software, not the TomTom application.
2. Everyone says you mount falls into portrait mode when you hit a bump.
Regardless, I bought one because I found it for $119 at the Apple Store. I can say it works flawlessly with the Navigon software. The bad reviews the device is getting are from the fact that the mount will fall into portrait mode when you hit a bump. This is not really accurate. You don't notice it at first but you can slide the mount up and down which fully prevents that from happening. The people who gave the device bad reviews probably didn't realize this. When you take the mount out of the box it's all the way extended and will fall into portrait mode very easily unless you slide it to the right a bit so the weight is balanced. Once you do that it will stay in the correct position regarldess of how bumpy the road is.
One other thing I really liked about this mount is the fact that I didn't have to take my iPhone out of the case to use it. I highly recommend this mount. It is compact, well built and gets great reception. The speaker is also loud and clear. The design of the suction cup is excellent as well, it's got a dial on it that lets you really crank it down so it won't come off the window regardless of the humidity or temperature. Great device.

Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod Video Direct Cable Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this cable thinking it was a real Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod cable. It is not. After installation of my new stereo with this cable I was having intermittent connecting issues. Talking to Crutchfield and others suggested a bad cable. I then purchased a new Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod cable from Crutchfield, installed it, and have had no issues. The cable ordered from Crutchfield was a Kenwood cable and it worked perfectly.
This looks to me like false advertising.
