(More customer reviews)I bought this after the winshield suction cup that my Garmin came with kept falling off the windshield and scaring the life out of me. This RAM unit is effective in that once applied the suction cup will not come off. However, I found the arm length and the additional moving parts to make it more difficult to adjust to the position I wanted. Its like trying to get an octopus in the right position. That constant movement of it quickly wore it out and I could no longer get it to tighten. I say quickly, it was probably about a year of regular use before it fell apart on me. It does what it says but with a few more issues than I expected. I found a much better option for my needs.

(More customer reviews)I wanted something to put my iPhone, that is in the large otter-box protection case, in my car/truck. This customizable RAM accessory holds my phone, screen out, securely. Even when driving off-road, it held the phone tightly in place. I still have access to the top & side controls, and charging cable or headphone jack while its in the 'fingers'. I can see how easily you could set it up to hold several different size devices. The 'iPhone-in-otter-box' is probably the maximum size of an item that will fit width-wise, with a little more room lengthwise.

(More customer reviews)The cradle fits my Nuvi 760 perfectly. That is all I want in a cradle -- zero movement of things that I put in it.
Perhaps, a bit more protection from the elements wouldn't hurt, because Nuvis are not very well sealed, but in case of a rain a simple ziploc bag pulled over the unit will protect it just fine, and the windshield does not let the bugs and debris to hit the setup, so I think I'll be OK.
