(More customer reviews)I have a 2007 Honda Fit. This mount would not fit either of the center vents without modification of the mount (yay, Dremel).
The clips require that there be a certain vertical distance between the vent louvers (the ones that go up and down, to which you are clipping the mount). Otherwise, you will wind up bending the louvers and putting the plastic under strain. I had to cut the release mechanisms off each clip so that they would fit through the tiny space between my car's vent louvers.
The center distance between the clips is not far enough apart for my car. My vent has an enormous rectangular direction adjuster (the knob that angles the vent right/left) dead center on the vent. The clips on this mount were not widely spaced enough to go around it. So I have one clip to the left of the direction adjuster and one clip sitting awkwardly on top of it. This made the mount not quite level.
I had to put the mount on and take it off several times, cutting and filing away bits of the clips, so that it would fit. This left me with some scratch damage on my vent. They say "no tools", but that's for the installation. I found it hard to remove the clips without having three hands and two tools. The damage is concealed by the mount for now.
There are NO instructions. At least none came with the one I ordered. That said, this product is still way better than the suction cup mount that came with my GPS.

(More customer reviews)I bought this to replace my existing mount that had the rubber suction ripped. It was pricey, I probably would have been wiser to purchase a new GPS unit. I actually had this sitting on my counter for 2 months before I attempted to put it together. Poor instructions on how to remove/attach the connector/power supply. This does have a better suction and better design than the original that came with my street pilot. All said and done...if had to do over..would have put my money towards a new GPS.

I didn't need a new cord or new mount, I just needed the cradle itself, so I ordered this device. It works perfectly and I've had no problems with it.

(More customer reviews)Very nice sturdy unit although its a bit big. i have a go 720 and it fits fine with room to spare, wish it wasn't so wide. will be testing it when i go to canada this year. reason for rating is the plastic gasket that you have to look through actually has 3 raised nipples on it right in the line of sight. now while that might not annoy you, i think its foolish. I actually returned the first one thinking it was a defect but sure enough its not. must be part of the mold. It's not a deal breaker for me, but a nuisance that could easily be avoided with a better mold. I have purchased other Ram products for my bike and all have been excellent to this point.

(More customer reviews)I am going to start this review by saying, I love RAM mounts.. after getting this, and seeing the quality of the actual parts, I bought many more mounts and extensions. Some from amazon and some directly from RAM that amazon didnt carry. Everything in my car is going to be RAM mounted.. tomtom goLive 740, myTouch 3G slide, and a Sony vaio ux90 UMPC.
Now, the main reason I gave this 3 stars instead of 5 is.. my mirror now shakes like mad just driving down the street. So bad that I cant barely see what is going on at night because its just a bunch of big blurry light streaks. I have been looking at things and it appears that it is the mount part that you mount your mirror to, not the part where the mount attaches to the windshield. I am actually going to try to drill and tap the mirror mount from ford, so I can tighten it down with a set screw the same way the RAM mount tightens down.

Magellan RoadMate GPS Dash Mount Review

(More customer reviews)My Roadmate 300 WINDSHIELD mount began having suction difficulties due to transferring it multiple times between vehicles. I went on Amazon and looked at the dash mount only to become concerned from the customer reviews. Despite the reviews I purchased the dash mount. I have been very pleased with the results.
The mount is heavy and the feet are flexible/moldable to ensure that the mount rests flush even on cars with a declivity dashboard. The feet are also made with a material that has a wonderful grip. I have a Honda Accord and the mount hasn't slipped AT ALL even with fast turns. My dash board has a very slight rough surface, which I think helps. I wonder if the other users had smooth dash boards. I imagine if one had a smooth dash and then used Armor All, the resulting slick surface might make it tough for the dash mount to grip.
I also let a group of friends borrow my dash mount on a recent roadtrip and the dash mount worked fine in their car. It's much easier to transfer from car to car than the windshield mount. I'm very happy to have made the switch.
