(More customer reviews)Bought a new car, so I needed new dashboard disk to mount my Nuvi. these seemed like a reasonable price for what appeared to be factory OEM disks.
When I received them I cleaned the dashboard with alcohol to make sure the adhesive would stick, removed the cover from the adhesive disk, and pressed it against the dashboard. Would not stick. I tried the other one. No-go. I touched the adhesive with my finger , and there was no adhesion - it did not feel sticky at all.
I contacted the seller for a refund, heard nothing. A week later sent another request for a refund, this time I got a refund.

(More customer reviews)The Good: The cradle for the GPS is more substantial than the Garmin OEM model. The mount itself is very adjustable, which makes positioning the GPS for optimum viewing on the motorcycle very convienient.
The Bad: Mounting system comes with two different mounting bolts, neither fit my motorcycle, so plan on a trip to your local nut & bolt store. The plastic spacers that go between the clutch reservoir and the mount are made of an relatively soft plastic and as you tighten the bolts they easily deform. There is no indication of when the bolts are sufficiently tight, due to the deforming of these spacers...be careful.

(More customer reviews)This works perfectly in both of my vehicles. It adjusts easily and it's sturdy and stable enough to take on bumpy logging roads without any problems. The only issue I have with it is that you have to plug in an already bulky power plug into a power socket right on the unit. Combine that with the long cable connecting the plug to the GPS, and you have a lot of wire to wrap up. What I would really like to see is a unit with a GPS power plug built right in to save space. Still, this is a lot better for me than a windshield suction cup or beanbag holder.

This is not available from this seller only from MAGELLAN ($15 with shipping) and they are chronically out of stock. So I am in the same place I was in before making this purchase. If you need to replace the entire two piece original unit this product is not for you.

(More customer reviews)I decided to try out this mount after reading a few good reviews, and I had very high hopes. My Honda Element makes it a little tricky for me to mount my phone; given that previous reviewers noted that the adhesive on this mount worked well, I thought I'd give it a shot.
The construction is solid, although it's a bit difficult to put together. Make sure you have a set of needle-nose pliers and a solid screwdriver before ordering. Once put together, however, the mount is quite sturdy. Furthermore, the magnets are, indeed, incredibly powerful, so you probably should not worry about your phone slipping its moorings.
The downside for me was attempting to install it in my Element. For those unaware, this car doesn't really have many "smooth" surfaces. Everything is textured in one way or another, which makes car adhesives go apoplectic. Thus, I didn't think it unusual that the adhesive on this mount didn't stick. What surprised me is that the super-tacky double-sided tape I have didn't work any better. Granted, the 1,000 degree August heat in Texas was likely a factor, but it's held in other applications.
Ultimately, I just couldn't use the mount. However, I decided to give it three stars because of its construction -- and because other users may find this the perfect addition to their cars. If you have a smooth, flat surface, you may just love it.

Garmin eTrex Dash Mount Review

(More customer reviews)One thing that wasn't clear to me before I bought this was how the GPS receiver actually attaches to this bracket (though you can see it on the picture if you know what your looking for). To attach it you have to remove the nice rubberized battery cover that came with your receiver with a new hard plastic battery cover that mates to this bracket. My problem is that I also use a garmin belt clip attachment (010-10380-00) and they aren't compatible. So, I have to change the battery cover back and forth depending if I want car mount, or the belt clip. Not very handy for geocaching, where you are in and out of your car and want to clip the GPS onto your belt. It's a shame...with a little better engineering from garmin, they could have designed something universal.

(More customer reviews)I accidently got both this mounting system and the Garmin cradle (p/n 10-10495-00) made for the Garmin 2720, not realizing that I would get two different cradles. This gave me an opportunity to try both cradles on my BMW motorcycle. I like the Garmin cradle a lot better for four reasons: (1) Thanks to the Garmin cradle's security screw, the GPS cannot be removed by the casual walk-by thief; (2) The RAM cradle is quite noticeable, but the Garmin cradle is out of the way; (3) The RAM mount clips around the GPS and will mar the finish over time, but the Garmin cradle attaches to the back to the manufacturer's mounting points; (4) the Garmin dust cover fits on the GPS while mounted on the Garmin cradle, but the RAM cradle prevents it. To mount the Garmin cradle on a motorcycle handlebar, I recommend the RAM mount that attaches to the Garmin cradle available from GPS City (SKU RAMB149-347).

(More customer reviews)This mounted firmly to the handle bar of my motorcycle. The RAM ball mount extention is very adjustable yet when tightened down, stays in place. The Small, Aqua box is also solidly made, however the fit of the window/seal is not the best and each time the device is placed within it must be set to assure proper seal. Also it is a thick and cloudy soft silicon like substance. I bought this for my Garmin Nuvi 765, which it was advertized to fit. It does fit, if you don't plan to hook it up and use it. The Nuvi requires that it remain in it's compact docking mount to function, this does not fit with the box. So I would advise not to by this size for the 765. I'm currently using it for my LG enV cell phone, and am still attempting to figure how to make the cable connections for charging, the MP3 speaker out, and/or Garmin connection work, and maintain a water tight barrier. So measure carefully, and keep in mind the size of the overall dimensions, with all accessory connections in place, and that you must route the cables through holes you cut through the back of the box, which you will be required to seal using your own ingenuity, to protect your device and the connections.

(More customer reviews)I was puzzled before purchasing this item, because no where in the descriptions does it explain how this device attaches to your car or if the bottom of the unit is a large rubber suction cup or what? The photo doesn't answer that question either.
So now that I purchased one, and know, I will answer it.
The bottom of this mount is just a flat plastic bottom with four holes so you can attach it with screws to something. (or you can attach velcro to it, and velcro it to something)
I was not about to screw this device into the dash of my car!
I also don't like the idea of sticking velcro to the dash either, so I was holding it all around the interior of the car wondering where I was going to put this thing...
And then I saw the cup holder!
The cup holder in my car slides in and out of the dash, and when it is pulled out, this device sat on top of it and I could hold it to the cup holder with one big rubber band and it didn't fall out or move around all day driving with it holding the GPS in place. Then I got another idea...
Why not attach this device onto something that can slide in and out of the cup holder like a cup does.
You can take any plastic cup or small jar that has a top that attaches securely or screws on. Then bolt this device onto the lid with 4 screws, and screw the lid onto the jar or cup, and then you just slide the whole contraption into a cup holder when you need it. This device allows you to position the GPS at every possible angle so you can have it looking right at you no matter where your cup holder is located.
If the four holes in the bottom plate of this device are too far apart for the lid you are using, you can always drill new holes closer in. Or expoxy the whole thing to whatever you have that fits in your cup holder nice and snug.
There are many cheap heavy duty plastic car mugs you can find with thick plastic lids that are wide enough for this device and the cups taper off to a smaller diameter at the bottom to fit into car cup holders that can be used for this project.

(More customer reviews)I bought this mount for the Garmin Quest. I use it on my '98 Harley Electra Glide. This mount work GREAT! I have it right on the handle bar and when the GPS is not mounted you can barely tell it's there. The GPS snaps into a holder that snaps onto the semi-permanent mount that stays on your bars. Works like a champ and the best part is that the GPS can easily be removed when you get where you're going. If you use your bike for long trips or just like to see where you are this works great.
