(More customer reviews)On the first speed bump I hit, the cradle left the mount, thank God there was no traffic on the road and I was able to pick up my GPS before it got run over, I used some rubber tape to secure the cradle in the ball and then while going over a railroad track, the whole ball came off the mount. The one that looks like a zip tie works much better.

Here is a great mount for the Garmin Nuvi. Excellent value on a heavy duty handlebar mount that fits handlebars up to 1 inches. We even include rubber strips so that this mount can be used for much smaller handlebars.This can be easily removed. This uses the cradle that came with your GPS. This fits all Garmin Nuvi GPS models as well as the Streetpilot C580 C550 C530 i5 i3 i2 GPS.

Garmin eTrex Holster Review

(More customer reviews)I have used this holster for my Garmin Vista C for over two years now and this is an excellent solution, particularly for hiking. The unit fits snugly into the case and the flap protects it from damage on the trail. Yet when you need to look at the unit, it's quick and easy to pull out with one hand. It's also a comfortable way to carry the unit in a backpack, car glovebox, etc. The case has solid sides so the unit is well-protected, even if it gets knocked about a bit. You don't have to worry about it getting dinged up while in this holster.
I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking in saying this case doesn't fit Cx models because this holster absolutely DOES fit the eTrex Vista HCx. I recently ordered the Vista HCx and, because I was so happy with this case with my older Vista C, I ordered another one. Later, I saw that review and was quite worried about it. But it had shipped so there was nothing to be done but to wait for it and see what happened.
I received the HCx and holster from Amazon today and the Vista HCx slid into the holster exactly like my older Vista C did. Sure the fit is tight. It's supposed to be. And yes, you have to give it a good tug to get it out, but that's just because the sides and back of the Vista are made of rubber so it grabs onto the material of the holster. Folks, that's a good thing (unless you like the idea of watching your expensive GPSr falling out and bouncing over the side of a cliff)!
I can also tell you from my experience with the older one that the holster and eTrex adapt to each other and they go from tight to nicely snug very quickly. Yet the case never lets the GPSr actually get loose so you never have to worry about the eTrex slipping out.
Anyway, take it from someone who has used it for a couple of years now. There is no better way to carry your eTrex (new or old) than this. Now if Garmin would just make one of these for my GPSMAP 60CSx, I'd be all set.

(More customer reviews)This thing is a tank, it's not in any danger of breaking. Another reviewer felt it was over-engineered and gave it a bad rating because of that, I don't agree with his rating, but I can see where he's coming from. The main thing I'd point out is that assembly holds the GPS a fair distance away from the handle bar which may be make or break with you (see video). I'm not sure how much vibration or shock a GPS unit can take, so I would have like to have seen some kind suspension or shock absorption considering it's size.

(More customer reviews)I bought this mount for the Garmin Quest. I use it on my '98 Harley Electra Glide. This mount work GREAT! I have it right on the handle bar and when the GPS is not mounted you can barely tell it's there. The GPS snaps into a holder that snaps onto the semi-permanent mount that stays on your bars. Works like a champ and the best part is that the GPS can easily be removed when you get where you're going. If you use your bike for long trips or just like to see where you are this works great.

(More customer reviews)If you have a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx GPS, do not buy Garmin's bike mount because it does not fit. Buy this rail mount instead to mount the GPS on a bicycle handlebar. The adapter that comes with the Vista HCx clips right in to this rail mount.
Unfortunately, this mount is not as secure as the mount Garmin makes for their Edge GPS units and it only allows you to mount the GPS on your handlebar, not on the stem.

(More customer reviews)If you have a race bike with a light aluminum handle bar, it probably has a diameter of more than 25 mm. Then this mount is the one you need. It comfortably fits any handle bar with a diameter in the range of 25 to 32 mm. It comes with three rubber strips of different thickness to adjust to the proper size.
It is too bad that you need to purchase this mount on top of the bicycle mount that is delivered with the special clipped backing for your Garmin. The standard mount does not fit any rail with a diameter larger than 25 mm.
In my case, I switched bikes and my new bike had a wider bar. So I'm lucky to have a mount now on both the old and new bike. But if you start from scratch, and have wide handle bar, you are faced with two purchases.

Garmin eTrex Handlebar Mount Bracket Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using an E-Trex for hiking, kayaking and biking pretty much since it came out, and I'm still pretty much enamored of it. This adapter certainly makes it easy to use the E-Trex on your bike, but I do have a few reservations about it.
The adapter plate consists of a replacement for the battery compartment cover on the E-Trex and an adapter that clamps on to the handlebars with a screw. Remove the stock cover, slap on the replacement and it's ready to clip on the bike. If you intend on only using the E-Trex on your bike, this works pretty well. If you plan on using your E-Trex for more than one sport, you may be changing covers back and forth regularly, since the replacement cover doesn't fit easily in a shirt or PFD pocket,
While the regular battery compartment cover seals via a rubber coating over the entire cover, the cover that comes with this adapter uses a skinny O-ring that's supposed to sit in a groove on the cover. The problem is that it pops out every time you remove the cover, whether to change batteries or just to switch covers. It's easy to drop the O-ring and it's a bit of a fussy job to get it back in the groove. Once sealed in, it seems waterproof enough.
Since my main use for my E-Trex is kayaking, I finally decided to stick with the original cover and gave the adapter away to a friend. If you plan on using your E-Trex exclusively on a bike, though, this is definitely the way to go.
