I am agree with the other reviews: The turn locations can be quite off and the street names can be off.
I have been testing it with my wife's Magellan I brought 3 months ago.
The Magellan and the Teletype Premium side by side had interesting results.
Even with the Teletype having 12 million POI, the Magellan showed me like 35 points of interest (in real time) by Disneyland, CA. The teletype unit showed me 1 gas station (in real time).
Both the Magellan & Teletype unit failed to find In N Out (Burger Restaurant) as a POI [point of interest] without me physically pulling my hair out for 1/2 hour toying with both of them. The problem was: In N Out is spelled In-N-Out. I can not believe both manufacturers could not think of programming their software to recognize names with and without hyphens connecting the words.
Teletype could not find the Street Name: N Glassell, in Orange CA automatically. While Magellan has an advanced feature to only highlight letters of streets as you type in the name of the street. As you keep typing, the Magellan does a process of elimination and displays a list of only the streets that are left, before you finish typing. This is a really blow you out the door feature!!!
The Magellan doesn't do text to speech, but the Magellan even tells me that I arrived at my destination and what side of the street my destination is on. The Teletype doens't tell me I arrived as good as the Magellan. I finally noticed today I get a flag on the screen on the Teletype Prem. Which is kind of self defeating. I want to hear the directions to my location with text to speech while not having to look at the screen.
I brought 2 Teletype Prem., hoping to give both as gifts to my family in CA. The one person is legally blind, but can see enough to ride his bike to work sometimes. I felt I could give this Teletype Prem. GPS unit to him and take some of the pressure off his wife. Now I am very nervous about giving him the unit.
I put in a call today 7/1/07 to Teletype GPS, hopefully they got a patch, for the devices or I may have to return them and lose 25% restocking fee.
Even though I do not want to return the units.
I kind of got the hang of all the neat features now. Hopefully we can rectify the problem tomorrow.

Teletype 720060 7-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review

The Worldnav Teletype 7200 series is a great idea. It is way over stated by the manufacturer. If you haul hazmat or over sized loads, this unit "may" be of benefit. Otherwise, go with a better known more feature packed unit like the Garmin or high end Magellan's. The address search is very cumbersome, the built in auto select feature is way out of wack. Usually not even in the same state.
It does have a totally useless USB interface. I have not been able to find a single ability in the unit that uses the USB. You are locked into using the old slow low capacity SD's. They require you to use their proprietary cards and you're ability to add music, ebooks or movies is very limited. The way it is set up, you pretty much have to have several low capacity cards and you have to change them whenever you want to switch from GPS modes to the entertainment modes.
To be brutally honest, with exception to the larger screen, this unit doesn't even begin to compare with a DUAL stereo/gps unit I bought at Walmart for under [.........]. You should save your money until these guys get a clue about what technology is actually about.

There are a couple of things that I wish were different about this device. First of all, during the day, it's really hard to view the screen because of glare from the sun. The manufacturer recommended purchasing something from Best Buy or wherever that would go around it like a "visor". Also, it doesn't give much notice before you have to take an exit. I was already on an exit one time when the automated voice told me to take the exit. This could have been from the reason below.
The first time I used it, it worked fine. The second time I used it, it kept stalling in the "route directions" mode. I called the manufacturer and they are sending me another SD card (the card that has all of the currect mapping info. that you insert into the GPS). They said that they had gotten a bad "batch" of the cards and that the new ones should work fine. Keep this in mind if you get one that has problems. Also, keep ALL of the warranty/manual, etc. paperwork in case you need to return it. You can't return it wouthout those.
