(More customer reviews)I have this mounted on the stern pulpit (i.e. railing) on my sailboat where the GPS can be easily seen holding the tiller. When I installed it, I thought it was a convenient out of the way place to hold the GPS to store tracks with speed, distance, etc and wasn't worried about how accessible the unit was, until the one time I found the fog rise up around me while motoring back to the dock. Having the GPS installed in this mount right next to me made it easy to see it without fumbling and trying to find someplace to not drop the device.
