The 265T has lifetime traffic (the ads are super small so they don't distract), bluetooth that works great with my cell phone, text-to-speech for all streets AND has a voice dial feature I didn't even know about! Received promptly and Garmin support was excellent when I called to get my free map update. You can get 1 free update, but you must provide them with Amazon proof of purchase because it's factory refurbished.

This is a refurbished GPS. Refurbished generally means that the unit has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the navigator back to like new conditions. Some GPS may contain cosmetic blemishes.Garmin's nuvi 265T improves upon its 200-series predecessors by adding free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device) as well as Bluetooth connectivity to your cell phone. Other significant improvements in the 2x5 series include a predictive technology that provides faster satellite lock, a redesigned screen with more information, terrain maps, and an exciting new photo navigation feature. The 265T provides complete maps for North America and the handy Text-to-Speech feature, so you get turn-by-turn spoken directions with the real names of streets (e.g. "turn left in 50 feet at Nebraska Way", rather than merely "turn left in 50 feet").
The nuvi 2x5 models all sport the slim design that Garmin introduced with the 200-series last year, so they all fit comfortably in your pocket or purse, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that makes them convenient for navigation by car or foot. All of the models include useful travel tools like a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more.

Important Product Information: This device features a "screen lock" feature. This is a standard feature on all nuvi 2x5 and 7x5 Garmin units. If you slide the "Power" key to the right, it will lock the screen and prevent any accidental touches. Once the screen lock feature is engaged, the screen will go black/gray after about 15 seconds to save power on the device. To unlock the screen, just slide the "Power" key to the center position. This feature is really targeted for "Pedestrian" mode so that a user can put the device in his or her pocket/purse and quickly unlock the screen instead of powering on/off continuously. AMCOR 3900 3.5" PROTABLE GPS Review

(More customer reviews)It's the first GPS I've owned, but I quite like it. Initial impression was nice. Route mapping seems to work very logically. I input some places I drive everyday, and the route it gave me was the exact route I take. Physically, it's very small, fitting perfectly in the palm of my hand (though my hands are a little big). It's very lightweight. The software side seems pretty straightforward, too. However, for anyone who's owned a GPS before, this unit is probably very similar. And, as a bonus, it does have the female British voice. I just completed a trip to NY and relied exclusively on the 3900 to get from point to point and have no complaints.
For a compact navigation unit it seems fairly well conceived and laid out. The stylus has an integrated hidey-hole and with a little practice can be flicked out with the finger quite easily, but it is secure enough not to fall out of its own accord. It's small enough that if you put it in, say, an Otter Box, you could easily use this unit outdoors or on the water (sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting).
As for the number of POI, that does leave a bit to be desired. For example, we have a super wal-mart right down the street from me, yet it's not in the POI database for this device. I read somewhere that you can add POI's through a piece of software, which I'm looking into now.
After doing some research about the 'net, it appears that this unit is comparable with the Mio Digiwalker c310, Navigon 2100 and probably a rebranded or cloned Jensen NVX225. The carrying "bag" that came with it is truly the cheese. It took longer to stuff the unit into the bag than it did to open the original package, get a charge in it and start navigating. Speaking of navigating... even inside my office it locked in quickly and correctly established my location. The SiRFstarIII chip in this unit provides accuracy similar to older units with WAAS enabled... 3-5 meters, generally. BTW, thats 9.8-16.4 feet, for those countries not yet using metric (namely, the United States).
With a little intuition and some patience, it appears that this unit is quite customizable and could even be used as a PDA. No map updates are currently available from Amcor.

(More customer reviews)This is a review of my first stand alone GPS unit. I have used iGuidance on my PPC with a bluetooth receiver in the past. The reason I purchased the 265t is for the "integrated FM traffic receiver" with the lifetime subscription. The integrated FM traffic receiver is one of my main gripes because it's not actually integrated into the unit itself. It's integrated into the power cable by an unsightly tumor that runs long about 3 inches along the length of the cable. So if you're in between cars and need the traffic capability, you can't forget the power cable. Other than the power cable, it's a nice simple looking unit.
The screen is clear and visible except for the most extreme angles of glare in which you might need to adjust it just a touch. The screen is very responsive when panning around the screen and even has a fairly accurate mouse pointer function if you want to get to a particular place on the map. The icons are clear and the tracking is smooth. The only improvements I could wish for is if the displaying information was able to be configured. Sometimes I just like to be ignorant of the speed limit and would rather like to know the distance to my destination rather than the ETA without having to keep tapping at the screen. A little arrow pointing north would also be nice.
Compared to my old iBlue receiver and iGuidance software the 265t locks onto satellites eons faster to get you going on the road ASAP. The FM receiver does warn you of upcoming traffic with a little icon in the upper left corner with an expected delay time but I can't comment on it's diverting capabilities yet, even with a recent traffic heavy trip from NY to Toronto. Some areas just don't have the traffic information when you need it which isn't the fault of the unit, but the lack of coverage of the traffic reporting area.
One difference I would like to point out where iGuidance may have better function over this nuvi is that you can detour around specific roads in the route list, whereas detouring with nuvi is perhaps oversimplified. Once you hit detour, you're at the mercy of the unit.
Overall, it's a fun little gps. It's pocketable, functional, not too gimmicky, and has more POI than I imagined. There might be a few more menus you wish you didn't have to go through, but for the most part it's organized and has outstanding search capability.
