This cable appears to be as advertised. The service was prompt and on time. The cable is necessary for hooking the GA29 Marine antenna to a GPS Map 60CSx.

The Garmin GA27C external GPS antenna works great! But the "Gilsson High Performance active remote external" antenna provides the same performance for $20 compared to $100. Avoid the Garmin 25MCX. It's performance is pathetic. I've written detailed reviews on Amazon of the 25MCX and the Gilsson. But the bottom line is: Get the Gilsson.

This new and improved remote antenna comes with two mounting options for a lower profile; has a magnetic mount for the outside of your vehicle or boat; and a suction mount, which holds the antenna in place against the inside of your windshield or window. Plus, it runs on a lower voltage to minimize battery drain. Connects to Garmin units via a standard coaxial connector (MCX).

I hooked up the antenna to my Harman/Kardon Gps and it works great. i get a signal within a minute, at times i waited more than 10 minutes for a signal without the antenna. I also noticed i keep the signal in places where i would've lost it without the antenna (long tunnels, under elevated train tracks etc...).

Powerful External Remote Amplified GPS Antenna Receiver for Garmin Nuvi Review

Powerful External Remote Amplified GPS Antenna Receiver for Garmin Nuvi
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Update December 2010:
DO NOT leave this plugged into the GPS for extended periods when not being used.
It consumes a small amount of power, and will flatten the GPS's internal battery within a few days. There was an even worse problem in one of my cars which was not used for several weeks. It left the car battery TOTALLY flat when it and the GPS were left plugged-in to an un-switched 12v outlet (even though the GPS was switched off).
I still rate this item as ***** (5 stars) - now that I know how to easily avoid a flat car battery. Just unplug it!!! All 5 antennae I have bought are still working fine (as is my now-ancient Nuvi 350).
Update December 2009:
I continue to be impressed and bought 2 more to give as gifts. AND No! I have no personal interest in the company (unfortunately). Improves speed of signal acquisition in my Garmin nuvi 765/765T 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic - especially noticeable when the GPS has not been been used for many days. Again, thoroughly recommended.
----------
Update April9 2009:
I was so pleased with this item that I bought 2 more so that they are permanently installed on my cars.
----------
I came across this item while browsing Amazon for reviews on new GPS. I needed to replace my 30 month old Nuvi 350 which was non-functioning - displaying the dreaded "Cannot Acquire Satellites" error message. The 2 reviews on this antenna both stated that its use had resolved this issue. Further investigation confirmed similar results with other comparable antennae.
I had returned a Nuvi 750 because its performance was inferior to the 350. Seeing that the cost of both the antenna and shipping was minimal I decided that I did not have much to lose by ordering one.
When it arrived, I connected it to my 350 and dumped them both on the passenger seat. - My hopes were high but my expectations were low.
In a very short time I noticed that my old 350 (previously destined for the garbage) was now fully functional. Further investigation revealed that signal strength is far higher that it had previously been. Signal acquisition is also very much quicker.
The antenna itself measures 1-3/4" x 1-3/8 x 9/16", has a 10' 1/8" diam. cord and has a powerful magnet for easy routing and exterior attachment. Since I am getting such good signal strength, I shall probably place it permanently above the dash where it will attract less unwelcome interest.
My other pleasant surprise was that it had arrived in Maine (from Texas) 3 days after placing my order.
When I finally replace my Nuvi 350, it (and this antenna) will continue to be used in our second car. My new GPS (maybe 765?) will be ordered along with a second antenna - hopefully from the same seller (if not Amazon.com itself).
One caveat:
The antenna's plug could be improved. It is tiny and difficult (very hard on finger nails) to remove. I plan to attach a more substantial grip (maybe a 1/2" diameter plastic disc or similar shape) using epoxy glue to eliminate this minor problem.
This is not enough of a problem to reduce my 5-star rating.
FYI:
The Nuvi has a direct connection for an antenna rather than through its quick-disconnect mount (a design upgrade would be a major improvement!!!) therefore this item must be unplugged whenever removing the GPS.

I needed an external antenna because the best place to mount my Garmin C330 is in the ash-tray space under the radio in the center console. I never got great reception with the GPS largely shielded by the dash. This antenna immediately and dramatically improved the strength of my GPS signal - from 1 bar in my driveway to 5. I no longer loose a signal in heavy woods or in cities. Best of all, this product came with the suction-cup mounting bracket, though the strong magnetic base on the Gilsson sticks to parts of my dash without the bracket. Best of all, I can now keep the GPS out of sight, and the antenna removes in 1 second when parked and can also be kept out of view.
I have no experience with the similar Garmin antenna, but this one provides me with a full 5-bar signal strength everywhere I've tried it.

Garmin GA26 Remote Vehicle Antenna for StreetPilot II+ and III+ Review

Garmin GA26 Remote Vehicle Antenna for StreetPilot II+ and III+
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
What a great plus for anyone who uses their GPS for their car. I bought this antenna for my StreetPilot III. As I opened the box, I was surprised how small and compact it really is (about the size of a cell phone). I chose to use the suction cup method which took literally 30 seconds to assemble. It simply entailed taking off the antenna on the StreetPilot III and replacing it with the antenna and then screwing the antenna to the suction cup mount. Then I took the suction cup and mounted it first on my windshield. When it usually takes up to a minute to sufficiently aquire satellites, the antenna allowed me to aquire over six satellites within 15 seconds. I also suctioned it on to the side window with the same success. By the way, if you choose to mount it on the outside of the vehicle, it simply involves screwing the antenna to a magnet which magnetically sticks to the car. There is no screwing into the car itself! Also, it has enough cable to run wherever needed. This is a great product!

I use this product on a Garmin GPS60CS. Before hand, I would get okay signal on any given day. And navigating by it in the truck was difficult because of lost signals. Once I hooked up this GA 25MCX to the GPS, WOW. I have never had sooo many and so high recepction before, EVER!. I almost had all 12 sats. @ full strength. And the plug is easy to use, just push it in and go. And just pull it out for removal, no tiny screw to mess with. The wire is slim and long (9ft), easy enough to hide away behing trim pieces. If you travel with a mobile GPS from Garmin, I highly recommend this product.

Garmin Antenna for GVN-52 Navigation System (010-10826-00) Review

Garmin Antenna for GVN-52 Navigation System (010-10826-00)

I didn't actually use this GPS Antenna as a GPS antenna per-se. I bought it just for the connector and a few feet of coax so that I could make an adapter to hook up my existing NMO mounted rooftop GPS antenna to my Kenwood KNA-G510. The Kenwood KNA-G510 is actually made by Garmin and is almost but not quite the same as a Garmin GVN-53. I know it sounds like craziness, but I threw away the antenna part of this item. Doing this was way less expensive than purchasing the proper rather hard to find connector (which I could only find available for purchase by itself in quantities of 1000 or more).
