(More customer reviews)This device is sturdy, well designed and manufactured. Works great with full steering wheel functions and onboard display. Cables and connectors are topnotch construction especially the cable that plugs to the iPod.
Instructions for do it yourselfers is on [...] with video links to youtube. Friend and I tore the entire front interior out to get to the radio plug. Actually not hard with the laptop up and running videos in the garage. Though remember what screws came from where.
The cable provided by USASpec was long enough to run from the radio down the transmission hump to the armrest cargo box (use wire cutters to make a hole in the plate and rubber mat at the bottom of the cargo box (file sharp edges) So I still have access to the base unit.
All around great product that goes above and beyond the call of duty. Amazon awesome as usual.
TWO recommendations for buyers
1) Good idea to plug the ipod up before turning on the car. Sometimes while advancing songs or playlists it will lock up or reboot the onboard NAV if it is not plugged up first. Or put the radio on something other than XM1 then plug up the ipod and switch back...this has not locked up so far too.
2) If the iPod is on hold it has locked up the NAV when you advance songs etc.
