Garmin Carabiner Stretch Holster for eTrex (010-10480-00) Review

(More customer reviews)I received this as a gift to accompany my new Garmin Etrex Vista, and have really enjoyed using it. Clipping onto your belt loop makes reference very easy while walking about geocaching. (I suggest loading the device so the clip is at the bottom of your GPS -- which means that it hangs upside down from your belt loop, but when you want to reference it, you simply hold it flat w/o unclipping from you belt. Believe it or not, it took me a couple of days to figure that out...and I even have a college degree!)
Downsides:
Not easy to load into the carrying case. It's very snug, which is great for security while carrying, but is a pain if you take it in/out a lot.
The clip is not very strong. After only 2 months of use the clip's hinge is already weak. I'm going to need to replace it soon, but carabiner clips are cheap and abundant at local hardware stores, so I don't consider this a "deal breaker".I have 2 different carrying cases (the other is a belt-clip clear-front model) and this is definitely the superior (and cheaper!) I completely and unabashedly recommend this carrying case for your Garmin Etrex -- and you can quote me on that!

Garmin Alkaline Battery Pack for Rino 520 and Rino 530 (010-10571-00) Review

(More customer reviews)The alkaline battery pack is a must have for the Rino if you're without power to recharge the main battery. The battery pack takes 4 AA batteries and lasts for several hours. With moderate use, it will last a 2-3 days. It does add a little bulk versus the main battery, and it reduces the radio range to 2W (which made me drop one star), but an excellent insurance policy if you're miles from nowhere. I used it in the arctic with no problems.

Garmin Carrying Case for GPSMAP 60 Series Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this cover to protect my 60cs and it does exactly what I had hoped. The cover is elastic on the back and has a rubber-like material on the sides and top which enables you to get a good grip on your GPS. The front of the cover is made of plastic which extends the length of the view screen as well as the buttons.
I do however, have some gripes about the cover. The plastic cover can make entering data with the rocker pad tedious because even though you are pressing the rocker one way, the plastic causes the rocker to respond another way. I would rather have seen a separate cover for the buttons that was a bit more pliable. Also, you have to take off the cover if you want to plug your GPS unit into your computer via the USB cable. An opening in the cover would have made this easier. Lastly, the cover does not work with the handlebar mount for the 60cs. I really wish that it would because it is on the handlebars of my bicycle that I need the most protection. Therefore, I also bought some plastic screen covers to attach to the front face of the GPS to prevent it from getting scratched. However, the plastic screen covers and this cover do not play well and I have found that the cover pulls the plastic screen covers off.
The 60cs is a big investment. Despite the flaws in the cover design, it is definitely worth the extra cost of buying this cover. And pick up some plastic screen covers as well.
