(More customer reviews)I am a big fan of portable GPS receivers. I have owned close to a dozen units over the years and currently have about six. Some I use some for hiking or geocaching and others I use when driving or traveling.
After choosing a model and mounting accessory that's right for you the next important decision is finding a protective case that's going to hold everything that you need to take with you. There are plenty of nice cases made for hand-held GPS's but when it comes to automotive units it's much harder the find the right one.
I really like this case from Lowe Pro. It's big enough to hold your GPS, the power cord, a window or friction mount and a few other small accessories yet is still small enough to travel with. I would prefer one a little smaller but then it probably wouldn't hold every thing. I really nice feature is that the exterior pocket (the one that holds the GPS) is padded on both sides for extra protection.
I thought that a video review would help potential buyers to get a better idea as to whether this case would work for them or not. Thanks!

(More customer reviews)IMHO if you put the money into a portable GPS, then spend a bit for a case. This case WILL fit the Magellan Maestro 3140 and it's easy to get in/out.
I like the closing of the case as it snaps tightly closed each and every time! The sides are an elastic. And it's a hard case! The back has a little hook to put on your belt if you like.

I have my Garmin Nuvi in the pouch right now with the car charging cord in the back section and the whole thing was super easy to put in and pull the hood over the front. I have been using the same pouch for a portable hard drive and it also works great for that. Additionally, I have one of the small camera hoodies by Built NY and have had my camera in that for over a year. All the products work great. In fact, I had a pen leak in my purse and a huge spot got on the camera hoodie. It didn't go through to the camera at all and came out very easily with some stain remover. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy this and am actually about to buy two more.

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent, rugged protective case for your Nuvi 300 Series GPS. It fits perfectly and has all the appropriate port openings to allow you to connect and mount your GPS device.
It has plenty of cushioning to absorb shocks. It also comes with a screen protector to give you the 100% solution for scratch protection. The only downside was that the screen protector was a bit difficult to install. When we tried to peel the first side of the sticker off, the adhesive tab came loose. Nevertheless, it now is properly installed and looks great!

I have the GPS unit on a motorcycle, so I make sure to take it off when I park; this nice case helps. I had the case in six days, with free shipping, and a better price than from Magellan. I'm completely satisfied.

Yes, its hard shell protects the GPS's screen, but more importantly, it is thin enough to fit virtually anywhere the GPS itself might fit. Therefore having this in one's purse or satchel utterly eliminates the lazy-factor we all must overcome - you know, the one that says, "I can't be bothered taking my GPS off the dashboard just to run into the deli... I'll only be in there, what... 5 minutes... nobody will steal it in that short amount of time." When the GPS is in it's dashboard holder, I keep the carrying case unzipped in my satchel. I takes about 5 seconds to unclip it and slide it into the hardshell case, then I zip it. You'll never regret buying one of these cases.

I also have the gray padded tomtom case that zips closed. Although not as "fancy" as this carry case, it is more functional for keeping the GPS safe from the elements.

Case Logic Portable Satellite Radio Case Review

I looked at a lot of cases for my GPS and based on the reviews here bought this one. For the same price as a quality case that would only hold the GPS this case also holds the accessories. Major plus is that it my Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for nuvi Series and StreetPilot C5XX Series GPS Navigators (C530, C550, and C580) which means I can put all signs of there being a GPS away in this case. Plus this is a much cleaner place to store your friction dashmount so it doesn't lose its tackiness from dirt and grime. In addition to just hiding the accessories, my wife then removes the GPS's holding case to fit in her purse and shoves the larger case under the car seat (it is too large for a glovebox, but if it were smaller it might not hold everything).
Pros:
Cost is on par with a quality GPS only case
Holds large friction dashmount & power cord
Case is as rugged as any zipper/hinge case can get
Cons:
Too large for glovebox
No carrying strap
Conclusion:
In the end the cons are minimal and I highly recommend this case. If you intend to use a friction dashmount I would say this should be considered a necessity to keep it clean.
Alternative:
If you are just looking for something really rugged to protect just your GPS checkout the OtterBox 2000 Waterproof Electronics Case or the Case Logic GPSP-2 Professional GPS Case for 4.3-Inch Flatscreens for around $20 shipped. I was going the Otterbox for my use but the Case Logic looked better for my wife's purse. Then I saw this one which ended the debate.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice case. It is hard enough, made of nice materials. It is a snug fit for my nuvi 765T. The only thing I don't like is the zipper is somewhat hard to close around the corners and you have to make some effort to align the case and the zipper so it closes. Recommended.
Update: The dimensions (outside) are 3.5" (95mm) x 5.25" (135mm) x 1.125" (30mm) NOT 6 x 1 x 8 inches!

The case is big enough to hold the gps and cords. The pictures show a shoulder strap which was missing from my case. I always question the quality of workmanship of a product when parts are broken or missing and I don't get what I paid for.
