TomTom Alternative Mount Kit (9M00.003) Review

(More customer reviews)The design of this mount leaves quite a bit to be desired.
The arm is not stiff enough, so the Tom Tom bounces quite a bit when driving on even relatively smooth roads.
The screws that hold the mounting plate to the arm are very small Torx screws and constantly work themselves loose. I will need to purchas a set of small Torx bits just to keep tightening these screws.
The suction cup mounting plate has a bit of 'slack' in the tension of the small rod that connects the cam to the suction cup. This also adds to the Tom Tom bouncing while driving.
Overall, I'm not very happy with the product.

TomTom Travel Case for TomTom Portable Vehicle GPS Devices Review

(More customer reviews)My girlfriend and I just purchased a new PND, and thought it would be a good idea to get some kinda of case for it. We considered a few options: (1) use one of the existing cases/pouches we already have, (2) get a small/non-bulky case so we could toss it in a purse/backpack, (3) get a larger case to stuff all the related accessories into a single container.
Since we already have a variety of small cases/pouches, we opted for #3: the larger case. We ordered the TT Travel Case thinking that all the parts and pieces would fit nicely in the case.
Being the gadget geek that I am, I patiently waited the 9 days it took to get to us; diligently checking my Amazon "Where's my Stuff" page, and following the box via the shipping number.
Being that TT recommends this case for the device we ordered (tt330s), I thought it would be more of a 'custom fit'. It's not. It's basically a medium sized (about twice the size of a portable cd player) 'harder-sided' case w/ the TT logo on it.
Here's what I really didn't like about the case:
1. It's not a custom fit for the TT device
2. For as big as it is, there's not enough space for the TT, charger/cable, and mount -- let alone the manuals and stuff.
3. The case is too large to conveniently 'take with you' when you park the car.
For the price (~$30) I'd recommend (1) re-purposing a pouch/bag you already have; or (2) wait til you have your PND and all the accessories you want to pack in front of you, and then go get a generic case/pouch/bag from Target or Walmart ;)

(More customer reviews)I fractured my GO 740 Live touch screen and had to get it repaired to the tune of $118, This case would have prevented that damage totally. It snugly holds the unit face down on a soft surface and the hardness of case is great protection from damage and provides for easy storage in the glove compartment of my vehicle. I highly recommend this case as it provides superior protection against damage to your GO 740. The only drawback is there is no strap as described in the offer. I found however, that the strap really wasn't needed to carry the case as it is not bulky and easy to grasp.

TomTom Leather GPS Carrying Case for 720, 730, 920 Review

(More customer reviews)The TomTom 720 doesn't come with a case, but you should probably get one if you don't want to get it all scratched up taking it in and out of your car. After doing some research, the one xl was the best looking case I could find online. My cost was $44, which included tax and shipping. When it arrived, I wasn't disappointed: the one xl is made of a sturdy yet soft leather, fits the 720 like a glove, and has nice looking reverse stitching (for those in to aesthetics). The only complaint I have is that for the life of me, I can't figure out where to attach the wrist strap. There is no hole or hook on either the case or the 720 unit that I can find, and there are no instructions included with the unit. I'm either missing something totally obvious or this is a fairly substantial design flaw. Either way, it should be a lot easier to figure out (it's a wrist strap for crying out loud) so I docked the case a full star in my review.

It doesn't add weight, which is great since I always put my TomTom in my purse whenever I leave the car. I do worry that the "string" connecting the wrist strap to the case my break since it seems very thin, so I don't use the strap.

(More customer reviews)At first glance you think there's no way my XXL unit will fit but it fits perfectly. My only complaint is that you have to coil up the wire just so for it to fit in the front pocket. If you're a clumsy person then this may not be the case for you. It doesn't seem the GPS you put in it would survive if you were to drop it in this case on say a side walk. If you're like me and just want a case to put it in after you're done using it and put it in your glove box so the screen doesn't get scratched then this is the case for you.

The case did its' job of protecting the GPS but it sure is a tight fit with the EasyPort mount (suction cup) left on. Like another reviewer mentioned my pull tab also broke off of the zipper.
For my use I just bought an INCASE brand nylon padded GPS travel case at BB. This is a larger case but it has room for the TomTom, the USB cable, car charger, and some other odds and ends.

(More customer reviews)Yes, it is great to be able to charge your Tom Tom from home. I discovered after I opened the box that the charger for my mobile phone, Motorola RAZR has the same imput connector as the Tom Tom Charger and also puts out 5 V DC.
Though the Tom Tom charger works very well, I could have saved money by just using the cell phone charger which does exactly the same thing. Now I have a spare.
