(More customer reviews)I actually purchased the sister item to this for my MP3 player, the DFTOY by USA Spec, which is an AUX input only. (Whereas this one is specialized to work with the iPod and any other AUX source.) Anyways, I installed it in a 2005 Toyota Tacoma - attaching it to the stock 6disc CD changer. If you search the web, you can find detailed installation tips as well as photos of other users installations. I was a little nervous about disassembling the dash on my new truck to put this in. But I was happily surprised to find out how easy it was and how well it sounds. DON'T use one of those lame FM transmitters - they're junk. This is the way to go.

(More customer reviews)I bought this so I could use my Desire as a GPS navigator in my van (Toyota Sienna). It works great for what it does, and the price was fantastic.
The phone holder is very snug and holds my phone nice and tight. Almost too tight at first, but I can slide the phone in and out fairly easily now that I've used it for a few weeks. The clips that hold onto the vent louvres hold very securely so the phone doesn't bounce around while driving. It rotates 360 degrees so I can have the phone in landscape mode, and all the cutouts in the holder are in the right place so I can have it charging while using the GPS.
Very satisfied with the purchase.

USA SPEC PA12-BMW - iPod in-vehicle interface adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I installed this on my MINI. It works well and takes the place of the CD player. You use the buttons on the radio to access play lists on your IPOD.
I love being able to use the radio controls on the steering wheel to control the volume and select songs on the IPOD. It also allows me to use the IPOD in the normal way to select songs.
So what is the down side? After a period of use- it varies from 3 hours to 10 hours- the IPOD locks up. I do a soft restart of the IPOD and sometimes this will fix things. However, twice I have had to remove power to the USA SPEC- that is not just turn the car off but disconnect the power lead coming to the interface. That fixes things but is kind of a pain.
In case you are wondering, the text does not display on my radio. It just says CD1, CD2, etc. I thought text display might mean the name of the song playing might appear or at least the name of the playlist. But not so on my 2003 MINI.
So I like this unit overall, but if you want an install and forget it solution I can tell you there might be some frustration. I wonder if it is programmed by the same guys at that big computer software company.

Both the iPod and the additional audio source can be selected from the factory radioâ??s front panel. Allows selection of tracks or playlists and displays artist and title information on Text compatible radios. The new Hybrid Mode retains use of the iPod's clickwheel for faster searching. Dice i-Mazda/Mazda 3 & 5 /Protege/Tribute/ IPod Adapter w/ Aux Audio Input Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this unit for my '07 Camry with Navigation after DICE Electronics assured me that it was compatible. While I guess you could say that it works with my stereo/nav unit, it's so unreliable that it is almost useless. I go on long drives and listen to a lot of audiobooks on my iPod. If I make a quick stop, upon restarting my car, I often find that the book (or podcast, or song, or whatever) has been reset back to the beginning. If I didn't happen to notice the exact hours and minutes of the audiobook, I have to search through it to find my place. Very annoying and a real time waster. It also randomly pauses my iPod without me touching it, then restarts it again a few seconds later. It is capable of displaying the title and track name from the iPod, but then inexplicably blanks this information out. If I switch to map view and then back, the info reappears. If I disconnect and then reconnect the iPod (and who wouldn't, as that's kind of the whole point of having one), the DICE unit makes the iPod "forget" my place in the playlist. Upon reconnecting, it will always play the same track, out of the 10,000 or so on the iPod. I mean, I like "...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead," but I'm damn sick of hearing the opening of that one song. Finally, I should mention that when I sent this complaint via their online system, it took 6 weeks before anyone even posted a "say, did anyone ever help you with this?" When I answered in the negative, I never heard another word. Apparently, they don't care if they have unhappy customers. Do yourself a favor, buy a VAISTech unit instead. It does the same thing, and while the reviews have been mixed, they have been far better than the DICE's.

TomTom Alternative Mount Kit (9M00.003) Review

The arm is not stiff enough, so the Tom Tom bounces quite a bit when driving on even relatively smooth roads.
The screws that hold the mounting plate to the arm are very small Torx screws and constantly work themselves loose. I will need to purchas a set of small Torx bits just to keep tightening these screws.
The suction cup mounting plate has a bit of 'slack' in the tension of the small rod that connects the cam to the suction cup. This also adds to the Tom Tom bouncing while driving.
Overall, I'm not very happy with the product.

Navigon Touch Screen Protectors Review

(More customer reviews)I hate to be disparaging about fellow shoppers but they seem pretty clueless. First of all, the protector is sandwiched between 2 protective thin plastic shields. The stickers that everyone is complaining about are there to help with peeling the shield off the protector - and they do that very well. I guess these people can't read cause it says right on the sticker to use it to help peel the protective layer off. Sheesh! It comes with a small cleaning cloth to get rid of smudges. I think 4 in the pack is a good deal (especially with free shipping - thanks Amazon). They fit the Navigon 7100 perfectly. I used one for my 7100 and the other for my wife's unit. Then I trimmed down the 2 other pieces to fit our cell phones. Even if we only had one 7100 you will probably need the extra in case you make a mistake applying the first one. The trick is to make sure the screen is clean and free of dust then apply the protector slowly. Next push out any trapped air bubbles by rubbing them with the small cloth. One thing you absolutely cannot do is try to peel off and reposition the protector once it is applied - this will leave permanent smudges on the sticky side of the protector - thus the second one will come in handy. The plastic looks very sturdy and should last for the life of the unit - or until it somehow gets ruined by my wife's fingernail polish.
I downgraded it 1 star for the following 2 reasons. First, it comes with no instructions in the package. The only help is written on those little stickers that apparently nobody reads anyway. Second, the item description says it helps reduce glare. This is absolutely not true. The Navigon touchscreens come from the factory with a nice matte anti-glare finish. The protector is glossy plastic that while it is glarefree - you will definately notice reflections on the screen.
So go ahead and get this product if you want to protect your GPS screen - it will excel at that.

Worse than that, it fell off the windshield 3 times while the unit was attached. Read up on this and you will find a number of owners fighting with TomTom over broken LCD screens only to find out THEY are at fault (according to Tom TOM CS reps) for the damage done by TomTOM's piece of junk window mount. I purchased an after-market unit on eBay for $12 and I could hang my 5 yr old off that thing without it coming off (even in weather below freezing). DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP THIS ENTIRELY. Heck I'll give you mine if you want it

It has a small in-line power box that adjusts the input to fit the needs of the Meridian. The problem I had is that I bought it before realizing the power and the computer connection both use the same strange I/O connector. So if you use this adapter, you can't connect to your laptop. The solution is to buy the more expensive dual cable version that has both battery cord and serial cable attached.
