This case is the perfect accessory for GPS owners for two important reasons.
Yes, its hard shell protects the GPS's screen, but more importantly, it is thin enough to fit virtually anywhere the GPS itself might fit. Therefore having this in one's purse or satchel utterly eliminates the lazy-factor we all must overcome - you know, the one that says, "I can't be bothered taking my GPS off the dashboard just to run into the deli... I'll only be in there, what... 5 minutes... nobody will steal it in that short amount of time." When the GPS is in it's dashboard holder, I keep the carrying case unzipped in my satchel. I takes about 5 seconds to unclip it and slide it into the hardshell case, then I zip it. You'll never regret buying one of these cases.

Case Logic Portable Satellite Radio Case Review

Case Logic Portable Satellite Radio Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Summary:
I looked at a lot of cases for my GPS and based on the reviews here bought this one. For the same price as a quality case that would only hold the GPS this case also holds the accessories. Major plus is that it my Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for nuvi Series and StreetPilot C5XX Series GPS Navigators (C530, C550, and C580) which means I can put all signs of there being a GPS away in this case. Plus this is a much cleaner place to store your friction dashmount so it doesn't lose its tackiness from dirt and grime. In addition to just hiding the accessories, my wife then removes the GPS's holding case to fit in her purse and shoves the larger case under the car seat (it is too large for a glovebox, but if it were smaller it might not hold everything).
Pros:
Cost is on par with a quality GPS only case
Holds large friction dashmount & power cord
Case is as rugged as any zipper/hinge case can get
Cons:
Too large for glovebox
No carrying strap
Conclusion:
In the end the cons are minimal and I highly recommend this case. If you intend to use a friction dashmount I would say this should be considered a necessity to keep it clean.
Alternative:
If you are just looking for something really rugged to protect just your GPS checkout the OtterBox 2000 Waterproof Electronics Case or the Case Logic GPSP-2 Professional GPS Case for 4.3-Inch Flatscreens for around $20 shipped. I was going the Otterbox for my use but the Case Logic looked better for my wife's purse. Then I saw this one which ended the debate.

Case Logic GPSP-1 Professional GPS Case for 3.5-Inch Flatscreens Review

Case Logic GPSP-1 Professional GPS Case for 3.5-Inch Flatscreens

This case is sweet - it fits my Nuvi 275T like a glove and is robust enought to protect but also small enough to slip in a large jacket pocket and easily in a carry on bag or purse. The aesthetic is pleasing with a perforated leather strip with brushed metal logo. The case material is very grippy which was a great thing in the frozen climes that I recently visited. The included micro fiber cloth reduced my worries about the GPS screen getting scratched and the elasticized netting divider inside meant that I could also put the traffic data antenna in there. Well Done, Case Logic!

Lowepro 4.3-Inch Navi Shield GPS Carrying Case (Black) Review

Lowepro 4.3-Inch Navi Shield GPS Carrying Case (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this during Amazons Black Friday Week deals. I had recently purchased the Garmin nuvi 205W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator and wanted a case for it when not in use. I have to admit that it was the price that sold me and not necessarily the reviews. After all a 3 star average isn't that great. But I was willing to take the chance and I'm glad I did. I can easily fit my GPS, the 12V adapter with cord and a couple extra disks in the Lowepro 4.3-Inch Navi Shield GPS Carrying Case. I also have no problem zipping it up without any force or worry about applying too much pressure. The case is firm without being to hard and small enough to put in my purse or travel bag. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the inflated price. Had it not of been on sale, I would have passed it over. If you're looking to buy keep an eye on price fluctuations, a discount of $8 or more off the list price would be worth it.
I also added in a picture to the customer images to show the case holding my GPS and charger.

Lowepro Volta 30 3.5-Inch and 4.3-Inch GPS Carrying Case (Black) Review

Lowepro Volta 30 3.5-Inch and 4.3-Inch GPS Carrying Case (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the perfect Garmin Nuvi case. I have examined and tried out just about every GPS case in the stores (Best Buy, Staples, Walmart, Target, etc) and every single case fell short of my expectations and/or functional needs for protection, quality, and portability.
I purchased this Lowepro Volta 30 from Amazon.com just by visually examining the product online and decided that this could be the case that I have been unsuccessfully looking for. When it came in the mail, it was absolutely the perfect Garmin Nuvi widescreen GPS case there is, period. At least from the ones I could research and personally try out with my Nuvi.
This case fits the Garmin Nuvi 755t GPS perfectly (virtually tailor made fit) without the slightest wiggle of the GPS once it is inside and zippered shut.
The outer case is a hard shell with a soft and smooth touch (for ultimate protection) with a quality smooth functioning zipper which zips around the entire case. There is little chance for the GPS to fall out when the zipper is opened, because there also is an intergral nylon flap hinge inside which holds the Nuvi in place when it is opened.
Oh, did I also mention the case has a belt loop to slide through your belt (which lies flat) if you don't care to slip this very slim case into an inside jacket pocket or just about any pocket for that matter (it is that slim)!!
If your needs are for an excellent protective and very slim carrying case for only your Nuvi GPS and memory cards to carry with you for street Navigation, restaurants, to work or just if you don't feel safe leaving it in the car when you leave your vehicle, this is the case for you.
I never carry my accessories with me everywhere I go anyway as I only need my GPS for one car. So I leave the the mount, cradle and power adapter hidden away under my seat or trunk etc and just grab the Nuvi GPS Unit and toss it in this case and I am on my way in a few seconds. The case is literally the same size as my Nuvi. Just big enough to enclose the Nuvi and give it all the protection it needs with it's soft touch hard shell, completely around all sides an edges for the Unit.
Trust this review if all you need is the perfect case to remove just your Nuvi GPS from the car to travel around with you in the the most slender and convienient case for this purpose. The last I looked, it is on sale now (12-13-09) on Amazon.com for $17 dollars with free shipping. I paid $24 and would pay that price again in a heartbeat. I've seen similiar portable style cases in Best Buy for $40 that are inferior in protection, and quality and were a sloppy fit.
By the way, Best Buy sells Lowepro products, but doesn't seem to carry this "Lowepro Volta 30" (not to be confused with the Volta 10 or the Volta 20 which are smaller cases). The Volta 20 might be perfect for the smaller screen GPS units.
One last comment. This Volta 30 fits the Garmin Nuvi 700 series GPS units perfectly, so be careful if you have a TomTom or other GPS, which seem to be larger than the Garmin 700 Nuvi Series. Some of those units might not fit. That is how perfect this case fits to the Nuvi line. Which makes it so convienient to take with you everwhere and just throw it into one of your pockets or slip it on your belt.
I hope this review narrows down your search for the perfect portable GPS case, since I wasted much time in trying and buying and returning cases that just didn't fit my needs perfectly.
With all this searching, shopping and reviewing a simple $24 GPS case, it might seem that I have too much time on my hands. Not at all. I am just a perfectionist and will go that extra mile to get what I want and be totally satisfied without regret and just thought I could save other shoppers with too much time on their hands the time I have expent searhing and shopping around. You don't want to know how much time I spent researching the GPS's until I found what I believe is the perfect Unit for me (Garmin Nuvi 755t). Good Luck.
Happy shopping and have a Happy Holiday. There is also a small pocket on the inside cover to store a memory card or two.

I purchased this case for the Garmin 760. I'm not sure why the other reviewer mentioned it did not fit the 760
but my brand new Garmin 760 fits perfectly inside with extra space! There is 1 inch of extra room on the top and 1/4" on each side. and plenty of room on top to close the zippered lid. All this while slipped into the mesh screened pocket inside.
It came with a soft cloth and wrist strap with a swivel clasp to connect to the case.
This is an awesome case with a little extra room for a memory card and protective shields.
