Garmin Hard Carrying Case for Colorado Handheld GPS Units Review

(More customer reviews)I have not always been happy with Garmin's cases for their GPS receivers. The case that they made for my 60CSx was awful. This case for the new Colorado unit is a completely different story.
What I like about it is that you have two different mounting options. One is to use the removable carabiner (or "D" ring) to clip onto your belt, belt loop, bag strap, etc. The other is a velcro strap that allows you to hook it on your belt without having to practically take your belt off (as you do with a simple sewn closed loop). Both secure the case well, however I prefer the velcro loop since the carabiner looks a little too mountain-climby for me when I am geocaching in an urban setting.
The case is closed with a standard clip that allows for one-hand operation. The front of the case drops open giving the user access to the GPSr. I was worried at first that when you open the case the unit might fall out. This seems to be a real possibility in my tests, but you have to be at an awkward angle for it to happen (which is very likely when mountaineering, geocaching, rock climbing or even hiking ). Also, you can close the case without the groves being lined up and hence off-set. I have to believe that this would compromise the water-resistance of the case.
Overall I really like this Garmin case. It is a well thought out accessory for the Colorado GPSr. It will certainly protect your investment and look pretty cool while doing it.

(More customer reviews)I have a ZAGG Invisible Shield on my GPS and on my phone. It works really well and if you install it properly, it really is invisible. It can be a little tricky to install, but follow the directions and take your time. Once you get it on, it stays on! It doesn't come off like some of the other cheaper protectors. I don't worry about my devices at all with this shield on and it's nice to have that peace of mind. In fact, the shield has out-lived my devices. I've had to replace both my phone and GPS due to software glitches and had to buy a new invisible shield each time. I did find out that ZAGG will send you a free replacement once if something goes wrong with your device and you just have to pay for shipping. If you're looking for protection for your devices, look no further.

(More customer reviews)I was worried how this would work in the car. But it works perfectly. And you don't even have to stick anything permanent on the dash, or wherever.
The main holder uses a strong suction cup for attaching directly to the window glass if you want. This is what I do, so it's easy to move between cars without having to buy 2 of them.
The Colorado slips right on (I don't even push it hard enough to 'click') and is a snap to just grab-n-go. I usually don't even bother with the power-adapter since I use rechargeable batteries in the Colorado.
