(More customer reviews)I bought this base on the previous reviewer because they use it with the same model TomTom Go630 I have. I was a little worried because I'd read elsewhere that this type of mount is prone to wobbling and rotating on it's own in the socket. This is not the case here, even while using the touch screen and power button. It's very steady and stable while driving. It could be improved a little by allowing it to rotate right at the mount as well as between the 2 elbows but I was still able to configure it so it's visible and doesn't interfere with vehicles controls and readouts.

(More customer reviews)I decided to try out this mount after reading a few good reviews, and I had very high hopes. My Honda Element makes it a little tricky for me to mount my phone; given that previous reviewers noted that the adhesive on this mount worked well, I thought I'd give it a shot.
The construction is solid, although it's a bit difficult to put together. Make sure you have a set of needle-nose pliers and a solid screwdriver before ordering. Once put together, however, the mount is quite sturdy. Furthermore, the magnets are, indeed, incredibly powerful, so you probably should not worry about your phone slipping its moorings.
The downside for me was attempting to install it in my Element. For those unaware, this car doesn't really have many "smooth" surfaces. Everything is textured in one way or another, which makes car adhesives go apoplectic. Thus, I didn't think it unusual that the adhesive on this mount didn't stick. What surprised me is that the super-tacky double-sided tape I have didn't work any better. Granted, the 1,000 degree August heat in Texas was likely a factor, but it's held in other applications.
Ultimately, I just couldn't use the mount. However, I decided to give it three stars because of its construction -- and because other users may find this the perfect addition to their cars. If you have a smooth, flat surface, you may just love it.

I haven't played with a lot of car GPS units, but as far as I can tell you can plot your route and adjust things as well as any other. There are various color sets to use and the option to have different ones during the day and night. Units can be changed between miles/feet and km/m. The language of the text and the speech can be different I found out. When it arrived it was set to English for text and Spanish for spoken directions. :D
Sometimes the zoom in and out and other option buttons aren't visible on the navigation map so you have to drag the pointer a little and then they appear. It seems to be right after visiting a menu that it occurs.
I got it half for the ability to play MP3s and videos with built in FM transmitting. The FM frequency can be set in .10 MHz steps from 88.10 to 107.90. You will more than likely want to heed the rather cryptic (less than optimal English translation) recommendation to have some ear phones or some type of audio extension (maybe a 10-25 foot one from the 99 Cents Only Store would be even better) connected to enhance the FM transmission. It is a little weak without the extension/phones connected. But with something good and long and on a low interference frequency you might broadcast around your house as well. :)
There is only 1 spoken voice to choose from (as far as I can tell).
The Mexico map comes on a separate CD that you are told to copy the information off of onto another SD card. (NOT onto the same 2 GB SD card that comes with it with the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands map data.)
The video player will play regular AVIs that you can get via everyone's favorite Pirate Bay or IsoHunt bittorrent search. That is good, because having to convert video files to play on a portable device is for the birds!
MP3s can be set to play randomly or repeat. They seem to continue to play in the background during every other application (navigation, picture viewing, text reading, settings adjustments).
The only thing I wish it had the ability to do in the ebook (text file) reader is to be able to add in some extra notes via a screen keyboard. But you can use it to check some notes you already have saved I guess, just no modifications or additions.
I'm happy with it. I hope the person that will receive it will be too. :D

I wanted to be able to mount my Palm Pre for easy access and viewing while driving and using a Bluetooth headset. The problem with the others was that they would block the USB connector on the side of the phone and I couldn't charge it while driving. The design of the Mobile Grip-IT IUHWS Windshield Mount Kit is perfect. It does the job and I can keep it plugged in and it is fully adjustable for other gadgets like my Garmin GPS. It's a great design and it is well made.

Garmin Wrist strap kit Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Garmin Wrist strap to replace the existing straps on my Forerunner 405. While the only reason I needed to replace the original strap was because I have a dog who decided to turn my GPS watch into a chew toy, I'm actually pretty glad he did chew it or I wouldn't have discovered this product! The original straps were hard and resulted in blisters on my wrist from rubbing during my long runs. The velcro strap is a dream in comparison. Soooo comfortable and easy to make the switch. The only issue I could foresee would be the fabric straps starting to smell from the sweat but I haven't had to deal with that yet.
I only gave it four stars because I had purchased the green forerunner and, with black being the only option, the black strap and green watch face does look a little funny. However, I'm more concerned about function over form.
Oh, almost forgot... I thought I could get a deal and originally bought the Garmin wrist strap that is selling for $19.99. That one is for earlier models, it doesn't contain the required adapters needed to convert the 405. Don't make the same mistake I did!

I absolutely love my kit, the visor mount being my favorite part. However, I was careless while switching the mount clip from one vehicle to another and broke it. I wrote GPS Mount Source right away to ask if they had additional ones that I could purchase. They not only responded in an extremely timely manner, the representative was very polite and helpful. After determining exactly which clip I had, I had my new ones in my hand within a couple days.
There are few dealers that are as customer oriented as GPS Mount Source and I am thrilled to have found them to add to my list of companies to both purchase from again as well as recommend to others.
